Uğur Can Hekim berät Mandanten in allen Fragen des Außenwirtschaftsrechts, zu EU-Sanktionen, zum Exportkontroll- und Zollrecht. Er vertritt Unternehmen verschiedenster Branchen entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette in Antidumping-, Antisubventions- und Schutzmaßnahmenverfahren der Europäischen Kommission.
Seine Tätigkeit beschränkt sich nicht nur auf den EU-Raum, sondern umfasst ebenfalls die Vertretung von Mandanten in Trade-Defence-Verfahren in Großbritannien, Kanada und in der Türkei. Zudem begleitet er Mandanten Verfahren vor den Gerichten der Europäischen Union sowie bei zwischenstaatlichen Streitigkeiten und Anhörungen vor dem WTO-Streitbeilegungsgremium.
Uğur Can Hekim ist ein ACSS-zertifizierter Sanktionsspezialist und berät regelmäßig zu EU-Sektor- und Finanzsanktionen, einschließlich der Begleitung von Lizenzierungsverfahren sowie der Koordination mit den EU-Behörden. Darüber hinaus unterstützt er Unternehmen bei der Umsetzung neuer EU-Regulierungsanforderungen, insbesondere in Bezug auf die Entwaldungsverordnung der EU und die Einhaltung des EU-Verbots von Produkten aus Zwangsarbeit.

Uğur Can Hekim studierte an der University of Edinburgh (LL.M.), der Université Libre de Bruxelles (Master de Droit) sowie an der Galatasaray Universitesi Istanbul (LL.B.). Sein Schwerpunkt lag hierbei auf EU-Recht, internationalem Wirtschaftsrecht und vergleichendem Recht. Vor seinem Wechsel zu BLOMSTEIN war er sieben Jahre in führenden internationalen Wirtschaftskanzleien in Brüssel im Außenwirtschafts- und Sanktionsrecht tätig.
