Marcelo Sequeira de Sousa specializes in all aspects of European and Portuguese antitrust and competition law. He advises clients in proceedings before the European Commission and European courts, in international investigations and merger transactions, as well as in compliance matters. Marcelo also provides advice on ESG-related European regulatory and compliance matters, especially with regard to international trade matters with Latin America.
Marcelo is admitted to the Bar in Portugal (Ordem dos Advogados).

Marcelo Sequeira de Sousa studied at the University of Lisbon – Faculty of Law, where he served as a student tutor in the Law and Economics department and completed a postgraduate program in Competition Law and Regulation.
Before joining BLOMSTEIN, Marcelo was part of a tier 1 Competition & EU practice in Lisbon, where he acquired solid experience in infringement and merger control proceedings before the Portuguese National Competition Authority.
